Senior Structural Engineer (Hydropower and Dams) Join to apply for the Senior Structural Engineer (Hydropower and Dams) role at WSP in Canada Overview Our Power subsector, a key component of WSPs ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. We provide services including technical study preparation in niche areas, project management, detailed design, and site services. Our team collaborates to meet and exceed the highest industry standards through innovation. Responsibilities You will lead in conducting feasibility studies and detailed engineering of new structures or rehabilitation of existing structures (dams, spillways, hydroelectric power plants). You will lead in the completion and review of reinforced concrete and steel structure design. You will participate in site inspections as needed. You will lead the preparation of plans and specifications. You will prepare reports and calculation notes. You will lead and carry out dam safety studies. You will mentor and supervise younger engineers. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent program. 12+ years of experience in structural engineering. Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in your province of practice. MUST HAVE experience with concrete and steel structure design in Hydropower and Dams projects. Multi-disciplinary versatility, leadership skills, dynamic, team-spirited, quality-oriented, and technical excellence are essential. Strong communication skills.
