Overview Job Title: Assistant Professor Indigenous Politics Location: St. George (Downtown Toronto), University of Toronto, Faculty of Arts & Science, Department of Political Science Appointment: Full-time tenure stream position (continuing) Rank: Assistant Professor, with anticipated start date July 1, 2026 Closing Date: 11/05/2025, 11:59PM ET Req ID: 44176 Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (specific assignments to be negotiated). Engage in regular departmental and university activities and maintain a productive research agenda. Supervise undergraduate, MA, and PhD students and provide student mentoring. Play an important role in growing and shaping the departments commitment to Indigenous Studies in the coming years. Qualifications PhD in Political Science or a related social sciences or humanities discipline, with a focus on Indigenous politics, by appointment or shortly thereafter. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, research, and Indigenous community engagement. Evidence of research excellence through publications in top-ranked journals, forthcoming publications, research statements, conference presentations, awards, and strong referees endorsements. Evidence of teaching excellence through a teaching dossier including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations.
