The project team at Ontario Transit Group is proud to be part of Ontarios future. Ontario Line South Our team is mobilizing its design and construction crews, with major works to commence in 2023. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030. The project will strengthen Ontarios economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction. What is the project? A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River) Stations: One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown) The Benefits to Ontario? Faster, more frequent, and reliable access to rapid transit with more than 227,500 people living within a 10-minute walk of an Ontario Line station Improving the quality of life for commuters by reducing daily travel time Reducing crowding on the existing Line 1 (Yonge-University) subway Up to 57,000 more jobs accessible by transit (in 45 minutes or less) for Toronto residents Economic and community growth along the future transit line and thousands of job opportunities during construction Reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gases, and fuel consumption by providing an alternative transportation option Job Description The position of Quality Supervisor performs inspection & testing of construction work and materials related to quality control and quality assurance for the Ontario Transit Group team for the Ontario Line South Project. Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) based on the project requirements from the Design and the Project Agreement. Ensure site-specific Quality Inspectors verify work is progressing as per reviewed drawings, shop drawings, Work method statements, Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP), and ITPs. Ensure line items in the ITPs / check sheets are signed off in real time and all supporting documents are available upon activity completion. Ensure ITPs are documented and closed upon activity completion. Review daily inspection reports and address flagged items. Provide weekly reports to the Construction Quality Control Manager. Coordinate with Document Control to upload completed ITPs. Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for work/material failures. Follow up on NCRs to ensure timely closure. Manage third-party testing companies and ensure calibration of testing equipment. Coordinate inspection/testing schedules with third parties. Ensure materials comply with project requirements. Attend site meetings and communicate quality alerts and best practices. Monitor work progress against schedule and report delays. Assist in internal, JV, and client quality reporting. Maintain excellent problem solving, documentation, and teamwork skills. Stand or walk for long periods as needed. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience as a quality inspector in transit projects, preferably in Ontario. Bachelors degree or CET in Civil Engineering/Architecture. Experience with Ontario Standards, CSA, ACI, TTC & Metrolinx specifications, and Construction Inspection manuals. Experience with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). ISO 9001:2015 internal/lead auditor training is an asset. Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360, ProjectWise, Dalux is an asset. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, willing to work additional hours as needed. Reports to the Construction Quality Control Manager or designee. Collaborates with the Quality Team and other departments for project success. Additional Information Is this role for you?
