Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team of mechanics and apprentices Monday to Friday, on a bi-weekly rotation (days and afternoons). This hands-on leadership role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance practices across our fleet. What you're responsible for : Supervise and mentor a team of licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and experienced technicians Oversee daily repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for a wide range of heavy equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with efficiency and accuracy Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime Support task scheduling, work prioritization, and planning in collaboration with the Maintenance Team and Operations Team Lead Monthly Shop Supervisor Safety Inspections and promote a culture of safety-first Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for work order management, reporting, and maintenance tracking Organize and maintain the shop environment, including tools, inventory, and parts Provide clear direction and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity Qualifications To join our team: You have a valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (an asset) You have proven supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance You have strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems You have the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams You take a proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on continuous improvement You are physically fit and comfortable working in demanding, outdoor industrial environments You have previous experience with CMMS systems (an asset) Seniority level Seniority level Executive Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Other Industries Utilities Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at American Iron & Metal (AIM) by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for Heavy Equipment Mechanic roles.
