We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our team. The Bookkeeper plays an integral role in our Audit and Advisory and Cloud Accounting groups by providing clients with full cycle bookkeeping services, including revenue and expense management, bank reconciliation and summarizing financial information. Responsibilities Provide the highest quality of service and attention to our clients by utilizing Xero, a cloud accounting technology, to facilitate client bookkeeping Maintain bank account records and conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy Coordinate and support the preparation of the clients financial statements Assemble information for the year-end work Maintain and update accounting records by recording and posting transactions in journals and the general ledger for accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll HST/GST calculations, reporting and filing T4 and T5 preparation Process payroll in a timely manner: calculations, reporting and filing Comply with all government reporting and filing protocols Maintain electronic filing systems Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum four years of relevant experience in a bookkeeping role and familiarity with basic accounting principles and full cycle bookkeeping Extensive experience using cloud accounting software Able to work independently with strong prioritizing and follow-up skills Experience preparing HST Experience processing payroll is an asset Experience managing multiple clients deliverables A keen attention to detail with the ability to focus on concepts Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to cope in a deadline-driven environment Computer Skills Knowledge of Xero Knowledge of QuickBooks and Simply Accounting Knowledge of CaseWare and TaxPrep is an asset Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Key Competencies Highly organized Positive attitude and flexibility Problem solving Strong attention to detail Interpersonal skills Strong written and oral communication Client service Ethics Judgment Initiative Located in the heart of mid-town Toronto, this is a permanent full-time role with a convenient location accessible by public transit.
