About the Project Pape Tunnel Underground Stations (PTUS) , a vital segment of the Ontario Line, enhances connectivity, reduces congestion, and supports sustainable growth in Toronto. Webuild, in joint venture, leads this projectconstructing 3.2 km of tunnel using advanced technology and two underground stations designed for future capacity, safety, accessibility, and seamless integration with Torontos transit network. To learn more about our project: Ontario Line - Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (infrastructureontario.ca) About the Job We are hiring a TBM Mechanical Supervisor to join our Tunnel Construction team on the Pape North Connect project. This position reports to the Plant Manager. What You Will Be Doing? Attending trainings in the TBM supplier factory Support planning unloading, assembly and disassembly and commissioning of the tunneling machines Supervise installation of the conveyor belts and other supporting facilities for the tunneling operations Supervise day-to-day mechanical activities of the TBM and support equipment, ensuring work is executed safely and according to schedule Prepare maintenance plan for TBM and other equipment needed Lead and mentor a team of TBM mechanics, fitters, and technicians Perform, oversee, and coordinate preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of TBM systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, and cutterhead systems Report daily progress, issues and recommendations to Plant Manager/Management Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures to minimize machine downtime Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration of TBM activities Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and mechanical performance Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting toolbox talks and safety inspections Liaise with equipment suppliers, vendors, and project management regarding spare parts and technical issues Support shift planning, resource allocation, and workforce scheduling to meet project milestones What We Are Looking For? Diploma, trade certification, or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance, heavy equipment, or industrial systems 10+ years of mechanical experience on TBM projects or large-scale tunneling/construction equipment Strong knowledge of TBM systems (cutterhead, EPB systems, conveyors, hydraulic & lubrication systems) Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns under high-pressure environments Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced, shift-based environment Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Excellent communication and reporting skills Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and extended hours when required Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and efficiency Why Choose Webuild?
