Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier is looking for a HR Generalist - Automotive to join their team.RESPONSIBILITIES: Supporting both employees and leadership across all Labour Relations and HR functionsProvide guidance to Supervisors on employee relations matters, including attendance, misconduct, collective agreement interpretation, and policy applicationConduct and document workplace investigations regarding performance, misconduct, and/or harassment, and provide recommendationsPerforming full-cycle recruitment for salaried and hourly positions, including onboarding and orientationCoordinate employee training, certification requirements, and workshopsDeliver training sessions for both hourly employees and managementManage absenteeism reporting and case management for WSIB and STD/LTD claimsOversee accommodation and return-to-work processes in compliance with legislationDevelop, organize, and implement employee engagement and community initiativesAnalyze HR processes and recommend improvementsParticipate in continuous improvement activitiesPromote and model a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace cultureREQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Post-secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP designation (or actively pursuing) preferredMinimum 5 years of HR experience in a unionized environment; manufacturing experience is an assetAt least 5 years of experience in labour relations investigationsMinimum of 5 years of experience conducting full-cycle hourly and salaried recruitment3+ years of experience managing WSIB and STD/LTD claimsStrong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA)Experience leading employee engagement initiativesExcellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skillsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ADP and Synerion is an assetHighly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focusedAbility to work onsite at the plant full-timeMEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
