Job Description

Overview Graduate Bridges & Civil Structures Engineering (Available 2026) at Arup. This role focuses on structural design for bridges and civil structures, with learning opportunities across Arups Structural Skills Network and exposure to design codes and technical guidelines. Responsibilities Preliminary and detailed structural design for new and existing bridges and civil structures Analyze simple and complex structures using structural analysis software Prepare design drawings, calculation packages, and technical reports Review and comment on designs, shop drawings, and technical reports from others Learn about the Arup Structural Skills Network Learn to navigate design codes and technical guidelines Qualifications Required Bachelors degree in civil, architectural, or structural engineering Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design, and civil engineering fundamentals Interest in the design of bridges, non-building structures and infrastructure, underground and offshore structures Initiative, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work Interest in sustainable design Ability to prioritize effectively and stay organized in a dynamic environment Submit a cover letter with the application Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without employer sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Masters degree in civil engineering with emphasis on structures Eligible to become a member of PEO, APEGA, EGBC, and/or OIQ Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher Experience with structural analysis software (Midas, SAP, CS iBridge, etc.) and 2D/3D modeling (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Rhino) Programming (Python, VBA) and parametric modeling (Grasshopper, Dynamo) Experience working in multidisciplinary teams on technical design projects Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field Were Looking For Recent or soon-to-be graduates in relevant fields Changemakers with a passion for sustainable development Innovative, critical thinkers who embrace new ideas Growth-minded individuals eager to learn Adaptable team players ready to tackle challenges What We Offer You Arup offers a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for growth, and a collaborative, inclusive culture.
