The Eating Disorders Program (EDP) at SickKids offers a range of services with the goal of providing highly integrated medical stabilization and mental health assessment and treatment services to patients and families. The integration of services provides inpatient, day treatment and outpatient care in a collaborative model between the Division of Adolescent Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry. Treatment focuses on delivering high-quality evidence-based models to optimize recovery and support families. Responsibilities Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment to children and adolescents with eating disorders and related mental health difficulties Apply specialized psychological expertise in multiple treatment approaches and drive practice-based evidence to improve child and family health outcomes Provide the treatment team with clinical formulations that help address and prioritize the psychological complexities requiring intervention Work collaboratively with a large interdisciplinary health care team, participating in consultation, team meetings and discharge/transition planning processes Educate, support and prepare patients and parents for discharge/transition planning Provide clinical teaching and supervision to PhD-level Psychology trainees, Adolescent Medicine Residents and Fellows, and other health professional colleagues Participate in departmental initiatives and program-specific committees Participate in the program planning and implementation initiatives and evaluation of the Eating Disorders Program, as appropriate The role requires services to be delivered in-person and through virtual platforms, on-site days are required Qualifications Completion of a CPA/APA recognized Ph.D. degree program in Clinical or Health Psychology with a pediatric/developmental focus Minimum two (2) years related experience in a pediatric clinical-health psychology setting; experience in treating patients with Eating Disorders is preferred Registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for autonomous practice Experience with evidence-based therapies such as Family Based Treatment (FBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) preferred Demonstrated skills in patient and family engagement, trauma-informed and culturally competent care, including preparing for transition and discharge Experience with measurement-based care is an asset Experience providing clinical supervision for PhD-level psychology trainees is an asset Excellent assessment, diagnostic and formulation skills for eating disorder patients Knowledge of research methodology, data collection and analysis is an asset Ability to work in a dynamic, inter-professional environment focused on patient and family needs, program design, decision making, and quality improvement Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, hospital documentation systems and related technology Commitment to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives Experience in a health science hospital environment is a strong asset On-site and flexible hours required Employment Type 30 hrs/week Full-Time (0.8 FTE), permanent SickKids is committed to championing equity, diversity and inclusion and providing accommodations during the application process.
