Physician Assistant - Acute Care Oncology Join the Division of Medical Oncology & Hematology and the Department of Radiation Oncology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) to collaborate in the provision of clinical care and participate in quality improvement and patient safety processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of academic activities relating to the care of acutely ill patients with cancer. Responsibilities Participate in interprofessional morning rounds. Obtain health history as appropriate and conduct comprehensive physical assessments and interpret findings. Utilize primary and secondary assessment results to determine if further clinical investigation is required. Order and complete preliminary interpretation of necessary diagnostic tests. Collaborate with the interprofessional team (nursing, pharmacy, social work, occupational/physiotherapy, residents and attendings). Formulate a treatment and management plan based on assessment and investigation results, availability of services and special needs of patient. Perform procedures as trained/delegated Coordinate care between the outpatient, urgent care, and inpatient unit as needed Qualifications Certified or eligible to be certified through the Physician Assistants Certification Council (PACC) Membership with the Canadian Association of the Physician Assistants Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (with patients, physicians, other health professionals) Strong clinical assessment skills Ability to order, perform and interpret diagnostic information, if delegated Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment Technical/procedural skills and/or inpatient clinical experience would be an asset We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates. #J-18808-Ljbffr
