About the role As a Japanese translator, you will provide essential document translation from English to Japanese in business setting. Your primary role will be to facilitate clear and accurate translation between English and Japanese speakers, ensuring individuals with limited language proficiency to understand our business presentation. This is a freelance opportunity with flexible hours, ideal for someone with a strong background in business communications , fluent in both English and Japanese. Key responsibilities Provide professional interpretation between English and Japanese. You will be expected to read and translate for client presentation decks & documentation, requiring professional business writing and attention to detail. This includes translating and conveying the information with precision and clarity. Ensure cultural appropriateness and professional tone in all translated materials. Maintain confidentiality of all project-related information. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and accuracy. Preferred: You might be expected to orally translate in client presentation, requiring quick thinking and attention to detail. Support live interpretation during key client meetings or presentations. Read and orally translate written materials, including both translating short passages and conveying the information with precision and clarity. You will handle video interpretation assignments. These can be completed remotely, offering flexibility and the ability to work from home when applicable. Requirements Fluency in English and Japanese (both written and spoken) with a professional/business tone. Japanese level in N2 or above. Demonstrated experience translating business documents (e.g., pitch decks, reports). Strong ability to read and interpret written documents accurately, converting them into clear and precise written translations. Experience with live interpretation (video or in-person) is a strong asset. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills, patient, and commitment to service. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
