To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to join our teams located in any one of our Canadian offices with preference for Calgary, AB, Moncton, NB, Kitchener, ON. Join our vibrant and rapidly expanding team across Canada, where you'll tackle complex energy projects from initial concepts to detailed engineering. As a Project Engineer , you'll be deeply involved as a key expert in project managing and collaborating with various disciplines to ensure we meet and exceed our project goals and deliverables. Your responsibilities will span project planning, scheduling, estimating, risk assessments, strategizing, and more. If this sounds exciting to you, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities You will plan, schedule, and estimate design engineering effort on projects from the conception of project design to issue of all drawings and specifications for construction. You will prepare and/or review cost estimates, schedules, risk assessment, and elements of project design. You will implement project strategy to ensure key issues are identified early and to ensure project goals of quality, schedule, and cost are achieved. You will interpret project specifications and scope to all engineering disciplines. You will review and approve all designs to ensure conformity with project specifications, project scope, company practices, and sound engineering practices. You will provide coordination to discipline and support development of their deliverables. You will prepare and update engineering control documents. You will monitor design changes, contract extras, and support development of change orders. You will be the main technical contact with the client. You will make recommendations on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects. You will be required to provide professional designation on projects you are engaged in. You will develop technical drawings and deliverables such as P&IDs, Line List & DBMs and authentication of deliverables. You will maintain quality control and quality assurance on projects. You will be responsible for reviewing the work of others. You will coach and mentor junior engineers in the development of their skills and training. Qualifications Post-Graduate in Engineering; P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation; 7 - 10 years of previous experience in an EPCM environment in the energy industry with 3-5 years direct project engineering experience; Experience acting as a main contact with the client coordinating meetings, creating project status reports and communicating the project status to different groups, including clients; Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines; Salary Salary range (in British Columbia): $82,900 - $114,000 The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
