Job Description

About the Role As a Controller , youll play a key role in directing all accounting and financial reporting for all existing and future residential real estate development projects. Reporting to VP, Development Finance, youll collaborate with dynamic teams across the organization to ensure timelines and accuracy of financial statements, while continuing to expand our brand across the Canadian private real estate investment landscape. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reporting packages Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy Lead and mentor a small, but growing accounting team Drive improvements in financial systems, templates, and reporting efficiency Ensure compliance with regulatory filings and remittances Manage daily cash flow and banking relationships Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed What You Bring CPA designation required and knowledge of IFRS adjustments for real estate 5-7+ years of progressive experience in accounting with a real estate development firm, ideally over a full-cycle of a development project from acquisition to completion Demonstrated success in an entrepreneurial setting Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness Strong communication, presentation skills and collaborative attitude Bonus: Experience with Jonas Premier Accounting software is a strong asset Predictive Index Assessments As part of our hiring process, candidates complete two short assessments from Predictive Index: A Behavioural Assessment (510 minutes, untimed) to understand your work and communication style.
