Location: Ottawa, ON (remote-friendly, though ask to be Ottawa-based)Postion: Part-TimeHours: 10 hours/weekRate: $25$35/hour (based on experience)About The Improv EmbassyThe Improv Embassy is an Ottawa based Improv School, dedicated to teaching and showcasing improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy in the nations capital. You can learn more about us at https://improvembassy.com/.Role SummaryReporting to the Board the Arts Administrator supports daily administrative tasks, communication efforts, and marketing initiatives to help our programming and community engagement run smoothly.Key ResponsibilitiesOffice Administration (approx. 60%)Manage general email inquiries- coordinate with board members and facilitators.Support scheduling and logistics for classes, jams, workshops, and festival events.Assist with event registrations, participant communications, and database upkeep.Prepare documents, reports, and internal materials including basic bookkeeping or expense tracking.Communications & Marketing (approx. 40%)Draft, schedule, and post communications across email newsletters, website updates, and social channels.Help promote events like the Ottawa Improv Festival, Courses and jams.Work with design tools to create promotional visuals and update website content.Track campaign performance, social media metrics, and registrations.Qualifications35 years experience in office administration, communications, or marketing (nonprofit or arts sector preferred).Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing for digital platforms.Hands-on experience with basic marketing toolsnewsletters (Mailchimp or similar), social media.Organized, proactive, attentive to detail, and able to handle multiple tasks.Comfortable with collaborative, creative environments and community-focused nonprofits.Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion principles (aligned with Improv Embassy values and code).What We OfferMeaningful, flexible part-time work supporting arts and community in Ottawa.Competitive hourly rate: $25$35/hour, based on experience.A creative, inclusive, and welcoming team environment.How to ApplyPlease send your resume and a brief cover letter (12 pages) to [email protected] Tell us:Why you're excited to work with the Improv Embassy,Relevant experience in administrative or communication dutiesYour availability (10 hours/week),Desired hourly rate within the $25$35 range.Please note: Following the values of inclusion and yes andwe encourage all to apply, even if you do not meet all outlined qualifications.If that is the case we simply ask you to be ready to showcase how you can still benefit our organization and needs with your great skills and past experiences.
