We offer tailored construction solutions, including planning, design services, grading, excavating, culvert and utility installations.We are currently looking forCivil Gradepersonto join our team for exciting Infrastructure projects in and around the Lower Mainland (VancouverArea) of BC. There is no camp work/live out (LOA) available at this time.Duties and Responsibilities:Reading drawings and preparing notes to lay various municipal pipe types and systemsUnderstanding offset layout and cut sheets provided by subcontracted survey companiesMaintaining, checking, and transporting survey instrumentsCommunicating effectively with pipe crew to set pipe or elements correctlyKeeping notes to record installation details and accurately transposing all of those as built drawings (neatly)Staying two steps ahead with preparation for the upcoming operationAttending and being an active participant in all mandatory safety meetingsFollowing instructions and operating as a productive member of a high functioning teamWorking independently, as well as part of a teamBeing punctual and having excellent attendanceQualifications:Can switch to bulk earthworks and road building when requiredExperience with GPS systems is an assetSafety knowledge and experience in the construction industryValid drivers license required, and your own transportationCertifications an asset: First Aid, Confined Space, Utility Locating, Rigging, etc.Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of team; Good work ethic and a willingness to learnAble to lift up to 50lbs periodically throughout a full work shiftAbility to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writingThis is a Unionized position withLiUNA! Local 1611 Construction & Specialized Workers Union.
