Job Description

Position OverviewAutodesk is currently seeking an experienced Product Owner to join the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Platform Data team. In this role, you will help drive delivery of our critical data platform and the related services that power the AEC industrys future workflows. As a Product Owner, youll work with a diverse team of product owners, engineering management, development leads, researchers, and experience designers. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to understand customer and market needs and shape work for the delivery team. Youll report directly to the Director of Product Management for AEC Data and work alongside peer Product Owners and Product Managers. The AEC Platform Data team designs APIs, services, and user interfaces that customers and developers use to access and manage granular data across the project lifecycle and extend Autodesks design and make software. This role benefits from a solid understanding of data management, foundational product management tactics, Building Information Modelling and related design solutions, and the AEC project lifecycle. Collaboration with internal partners and customers is common. Were looking for someone who can lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism and who is passionate about crafting world-class platform experiences.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the product manager to understand the product roadmap and prioritize grooming and planning efforts accordinglyDeliver APIs and services that serve as a foundation for our data platformManage product backlog and sprint priorities including creating user stories by partnering with product managers, designers, developers, and customersDocument and translate customer, business, and technical requirements into developable workLeverage analytics and customer feedback to understand product and user behavior, and to measure business value deliveredOwn a comprehensive view of execution performance by assessing releases against acceptance criteria, monitoring planned vs actual work delivered, and partnering with engineering leads to ensure alignment on expected outcomesProactively monitor risks, issues, and dependencies that could disrupt the roadmap and partner with delivery teams to mitigate accordinglyServe as a day-to-day point of contact supporting adherence to Definition of Done / Definition of Ready criteriaMaintain understanding of sprint tasks and near-term backlog and escalate gaps in expectations or understanding to engineering leads and product managersSay no when necessary to maintain team focus on shared roadmap outcomesBring extensive perspective on product delivery best practices and common ritualsRepresent and promote a platform-first mentality in designing, building, and delivering high-performing solutionsMinimum QualificationsA background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field6+ years of combined experience in development, product ownership, project management, business analysis, or similar rolesExpertise in Agile software methodologyProficiency in managing concurrent projects and prioritizing between consumer-facing features, requests, and technical needsProficiency in stakeholder management and negotiationExcellent communication skills ability to state things simply and persuasively for a variety of audiences and in context-sensitive formatsExperience with cloud-based product development for SaaS solutionsExtensive experience with product delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, etc.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with the AEC Industry and related design toolsFamiliarity with API design, development, and support practicesExperience with data engineering workflows, data pipeline optimization, and related processesExperience working in a matrixed organizationAbility to influence without authorityAbility to stay focused while navigating unknownsExperience operating products at scale with strong product-market fitAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk!
