You will work with your team, other Managers, and the rest of the organization to define our software development practices, procedures, and policies. As Software Factory Chapter Leader you are responsible for ensuring our modules and products meet or exceed the demands of the aviation world and are prepared to enable the future.ResponsibilitiesAlignment of engineering initiatives to focus on company strategic goalsEnsure teams understanding of engineering goals and company strategyIdentify engineering gaps and close themSet Software Factory practices, processes, and procedures for area of ownershipLead, support, and coach Software Factory Chapter Employees and holds the team accountableProvides people management: career development and performance management.Collaborate with other Software factory Managers to deliver on shared objectivesEnsures quality in our deliverablesContinuousRequired Skills/ExperienceBachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent10 years of experience in software design and development3 years of leadership experience - managing software developersKnowledge of SAFe.Net and/or C++Modern front-end technologiesAWSDriven and holds team accountablePassion for motivating and building teams to reach their potentialAbility to provide technical direction, influence, and build consensusKnowledge to identify future items impacting engineering skillsAbility to bring people together to solve problemsA strategic thinkerCustomer centric mindsetStrong communicator (both verbal and written) - able to give constructive feedbackPerksLocated in the heart of University of Waterloos David Johnston Research + Technology Park, NAVBLUE is close to shops, restaurants, gyms, daycare, and many other amenities, and only 10 minutes away from Hwy 85.
