Role OverviewThe Head of Compliance will serve as the designated compliance leader in Canada, overseeing all regulatory, legal, and risk management matters. This individual will design and execute our compliance strategy, maintain constructive relationships with regulators, and act as the subject matter expert for Canadian regulatory frameworks (FINTRAC, CSA, OSFI, etc.).What you'll be doing:Serve as the designated CCO, ensuring compliance with Canadian securities legislation and registration obligations. Monitor and interpret applicable Canadian financial services laws and regulations (e.g., AML/ATF, consumer protection, securities, payments).Serve as the primary point of contact for FINTRAC, OSFI, and other regulatory bodies.Ensure ongoing licensing and registration requirements are met across jurisdictions.Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance management framework, policies, and procedures.Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and ensure strong internal controls are in place.Oversee AML/ATF compliance, including transaction monitoring, reporting, and investigations.Advise executive leadership on compliance risks, emerging regulations, and best practices.Prepare required reporting for senior management and regulatory authorities.Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Product, and Operations to align compliance requirements with business initiatives.Experience we'd love:Eligible and qualified to be approved as a Chief Compliance Officer under Canadian securities registration rules.Minimum 7 years of compliance and/or risk management experience, preferably within fintech, banking, payments, or securities (Crypto a strong asset)Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks (FINTRAC, OSFI, CSA, provincial regulators).Experience developing and implementing AML/ATF programs.Proven experience engaging with regulators and managing audits/examinations.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, CPA, CFA, JD/LLB) considered an asset; prior CCO approval is strongly preferred.
