SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing and expediting activities to support the companys operational and business objectives. This role ensures timely and accurate procurement of materials and products, maintaining alignment with business plans and inventory requirements.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCreate and manage new purchase orders for direct shipments (drop ships) to customers.Enter and process purchase orders for distribution center (DC) locations.Respond to inquiries regarding purchase order status and resolve discrepancies involving quantities, pricing, order multiples, or product identification (PID) issues.Maintain and update direct ship purchase orders in Navision, including order cancellations, adjustments, and resubmissions to suppliers as needed.Utilize Microsoft Office, Access, Navision, and SRRS Report Server for purchasing and reporting tasks.Maintain accurate pricing and landed costs in Navision.Calculate landed costs, including freight charges and applicable tariffs.Process vendor returns and ensure appropriate credits are received.Approve customer return requests as necessary.Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing strategies to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.Analyze inventory turnover rates and recommend adjustments to purchasing plans.Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure purchasing strategies align with business goals.Support new product launches and promotional activities through timely inventory management.Assist in resolving issues related to invoices, deliveries, or product quality.Prepare inventory and purchasing reports as required.Perform other duties as assigned by the Procurement Supervisor.Qualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or inventory management, ideally within a distribution or logistics environment.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of import/export regulations and vendor compliance is preferred.Strong customer service orientation and sense of urgency.Proficiency with data manipulation tools such as Excel and Access.
