THE OPPORTUNITYWestminster Mutual is looking for a detail-oriented Farm and/or Commercial Underwriter to join our team. Youll evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business in the agricultural and/or commercial property sectors, helping ensure profitable growth while delivering exceptional service to our brokers, agents, and policyholders. This role combines technical risk assessment with relationship management in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.WHAT YOULL BE DOINGUnderwriting new business, renewals, and endorsements on farm and/or commercial risksCollaborating with brokers and agents to clarify risk and resolve concernsRecommending premiums and coverage terms based on sound risk analysisProcessing policies using Cognition+ and ensure complete, accurate documentationSupporting product development and broker training for new product offeringsEscalate complex or out-of-authority risks for reviewWHAT YOULL BRING3+ years of experience in underwriting an assetKnowledge of agricultural operations, rural property, and commercial risk is an assetPost-secondary education in Insurance, Agriculture, or Business (or equivalent experience)CIP Designation, or in progress, an assetStrong decision-making, communication, and relationship-building skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance systems (Cognition+ an asset)Analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindsetWHAT WE OFFERA friendly, community-oriented workplaceComprehensive benefitsOpportunity for hybrid work scheduleCompetitive Defined Contribution Pension PlanOpportunity for variety and growthGreat work-life balanceJOIN OUR TEAM!Interested?
