Permanent, full-time/part-time and short-term/locum opportunities exist. There is opportunity to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University, as well as local simulation-based learning and mentoring opportunities, should that be of interest. SMRH is approximately two hours from the region's tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, which provides neonatal support. This facility serves a population of nearly 60,000 from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities. It is classified as a Level 2 Emergency Dept and has 8 beds, plus an observation area with 15 beds.ResponsibilitiesDuties include full scope of practice as an emergency physician providing care to patients within the eastern zone.
