Opportunity Profile Education and Technology Strategy Director October 2025 The Alberta Dental Association (ADA) is the collective voice of dentists in Alberta. Established in 2023, the ADA strengthens and supports the dental profession and promotes oral health as an integral part of general health for all Albertans. The Position Youre a strategist, focused on growing infrastructure and capacity, building programming through partnerships in service of the ADA and its valued members. Reporting to the CEO as a member of the Leadership Team, the ADAs Education and Technology Strategy Director is accountable for the learning and development (continuing education for member dentists) and technology strategy portfolios for the ADA. The role works with other members of the ADA team and engages regularly with members and stakeholders of the Association. The role is also a people manager, with one direct report, the Program Assistant Education and Technology. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated selfstarter, a strategic thinker, and possesses exceptional organizational skills and communication abilities. The candidate is strongly knowledgeable with technology and digital tools and processes for the corporation, which assist in delivering value to ADA members and partners. The incumbent will have a working knowledge of dental practices and business operations, as well as adult education and pedagogy. It is a fulltime, permanent position. Hours of work Regular evening and weekend availability is required (usually 23 evenings and 1 weekend day per month) to host webinars, inperson education sessions or member events, and to participate in Committee and Board meetings. Due to this requirement, there is some flexibility with daily work hours. Location Staff of the ADA work in a hybrid inoffice and home office model, per the established Personnel Policies. The ability to travel within the province (and potentially nationally) is required. Salary Commensurate with experience. The range for this position is $100,000 to $145,000. Responsibilities The Education and Technology Strategy Director is a strategic leadership role responsible for implementing, managing, evaluating, and growing ADAs continuing education programs for Association members. The role fosters a culture of continuous learning and growth for Albertas dentists throughout their career journey, from student learners through to retirement. This role is also responsible for spearheading management of the technology infrastructure for the ADA, including internal and memberfacing technologies. The Education and Technology Strategy Director champions the ADA as a highly respected dental association in Alberta, Canada and around the world by leading two key portfolios: Member Education implementing and evaluating the ADA member education strategy and operational plans. supporting the ADAs Education and Learning Committee, which provides advice to the ADA on its education strategy and programs. engaging with members and partners to identify current and emerging industry trends to inform the ADAs continuing education programs. collaborating with subject matter experts and academia to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate member education programming, e.g., webinars, online courses, videos, tools and resources, workshops, conference sessions, etc. launching and maintaining the ADAs Learning Lounge, hosted on the Absorb LMS platform, and supporting systems, processes, tools, and workflows, e.g., virtual event delivery, event registration, etc. establishing and monitoring metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of member education programs. developing a growth strategy for the ADAs continuing education programming for dentists and dental teams, including opportunities for nonmember dues revenue. working with the Community and Partnerships Director to nurture relationships with the University of Alberta School of Dentistry and other academic institutions, corporate partners, vendors, and other health professional associations, in support of the ADAs strategic objectives. collaborating with the Community and Partnerships Director and Advisory Committee to facilitate the educational programming for the Alberta Dental Team Summit. working together with the Member Services Director in planning and hosting continuing education events and developing knowledge products, based on member feedback and needs. working with the Public Relations and Communications team to market ADA education programming as a valueadded member benefit. representing the ADA on provincial and national working groups and committees, as delegated by the CEO. Information Technology working closely with the ADAs IT managed services firm, develop and implement the IT strategy and operations plan for the ADA, including all aspects of vendor management. maintaining a scalable technology infrastructure for the ADA, including document management, association management systems, learning management systems, website, business intelligence systems, etc. identifying, procuring, implementing, maintaining, and supporting corporate technology platforms, systems, processes, tools, workflows, etc. implementing and overseeing cybersecurity measures to protect organizational data and member information, including developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans. providing IT support and training for ADA staff, Board and Committee members. Education and Experience University degree (graduate preferred) in business administration, information technology, education, or a related field from a recognized academic institution. Demonstrated track record with the implementation of technology strategy initiatives, including digital learning systems. Experience with a professional member association is highly desirable. Experience working with the dental profession, affiliated health professions, and / or the health benefit and insurance industry is a very strong asset.
