Role and Location At GHD we are looking for a new Technician/Technologist to join the EDO team at our GTA/Waterloo ON office. In this role you will produce basic pattern designs utilizing 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Revit). Prepare detailed drawings, using software tools. Ensure that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the project requirements. Contribute design modifications to improve the quality and function of the design. Responsibilities Data Collection and Analysis: Extract relevant data from information provided by others and input it into spreadsheets or standard formats. Solutions Analysis: Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine inquiries. Applications Software Maintenance: Monitor and identify less-complex software defects and suggest corrections for approval by more senior colleagues to maintain fully functioning applications software. Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate semi-complex equipment and machines, prioritizing routine tasks to improve efficiency and adjusting multiple related variables to resolve production problems. Design and Conceptualization: Support others by performing prescribed design activities using existing procedures. Product and Solution Development: Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures. Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work. Quality Assurance Testing: Perform a specified range of tests to verify that specifications are met and to reject nonconforming material or articles. What You Will Bring To The Team Education College Diploma, 23-year program Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Building Sciences and Construction. C.E.T., C Tech. or to be obtained within 12 months of hire Experience General Experience: 0-2 years of experience. Multiple lenguages is a plus. Construction experience is a plus. Experience and aptitude to work with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Ability to utilize MicroStation considered an asset.
