Overview Temporary Full-Time, Unionized opportunity in the Development and Parks Planning Department for an experienced and motivated individual. The City of Vaughan offers a base pay range of CA$91,608.14/yr to CA$98,566.26/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more. Position Overview Provides urban design planning and expertise; recommends and implements goals, strategies and tactics to address the organization and physical development of the City with respect to architectural form, landscape, placemaking, sustainability, environment, public safety, and cultural heritage. Coordinates urban design studies, analysis of development application proposals and the preparation of urban design reports, policies and guidelines. Acts as liaison with the City, Region, external agencies and developers to determine urban design requirements and provide urban design solutions. Provides resources for the progress and consideration of development proposals through the corporate process. Qualifications and Experience University Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, or suitable equivalent. Full Membership in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (O.A.L.A.), Ontario Professional Planners Institute (O.P.P.I.) or Ontario Association of Architects (O.A.A.). Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Urban Design, preferably in a municipal environment. Working knowledge of LEED, CPTED, forestry, and ecology. Skilled in manual drafting and technical drawing as well as working knowledge of computer-aided drawing, graphic, three-dimensional modeling, and rendering software packages such as AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and SketchUp. Experience with project management tools and methodologies. Proficient in report writing and presentations using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign and Outlook). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and oral/written communication skills. Knowledge of the citys core competencies and relevant functional competencies. A valid Ontario Class 'G' Drivers' license in good standing and a reliable vehicle for corporate use.
