Click the link below for more information: Public Service Loan Forgiveness Information Soil & Water Resource Conservation Specialist Description: This individual will provide professional consultative and technical assistance to farmers and landowners regarding a wide variety of soil and water conservation practices. Work includes making field visits, studying conservation plans, gathering data on existing land and water conditions, analyzing conservation problems, and developing recommended solutions. Work also includes conservation program coordination, promotion, enrollment, administrative record maintenance, and tracking. The employee is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and extremely hot and cold temperatures, noise, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases. Work involves extensive public contact which requires tact and courtesy. Work is performed under the daily technical and administrative supervision of the Conservation Manager and is also supervised by the Fishing Creek Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors. Requirements: Minimum of a two-year college degree in natural resource management, agriculture, soil science, or related field and experience in planning and implementing land use practices which conserve natural resources or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina. Must be able to pass a federal background check.
