Copywriter and Communications Coordinator - GAiN Full-time Title: Copywriter & Communications Coordinator Ministry: Global Aid Network (GAiN) Location: National Resource Center (Abbotsford) - hybrid Reports to: Marketing, Communications and Development Director Position type: Permanent Full time ($23) Organization Overview Power to Change is a non-profit movement that invites others on a mission to help others to know Jesus and experience His power to change the world. Ministry Overview Global Aid Network Canada (GAiN) is a worldwide humanitarian relief and development organization dedicated to relieving suffering, restoring dignity, and revealing hope to people living in some of the toughest places on earth. GAiNs passion is to ease the challenging living situations that people experience in everyday life in developing countries by providing them with the tools and resources they require. GAiN aspires to not only bring tangible humanitarian aid to people living in difficult situations, but to also see them come to faith in Jesus Christ and share it with others. Position Overview The Copywriter & Communications Coordinator will have a heart for compassionate activity and humanitarian work. This role will add capacity to GAiNs marketing and communications and the Donor Advancement (DA) Team by working on various projects and tasks necessary to fulfill organizational goals and objectives. Primary Outcomes: This role will be held accountable to achieve the following outcomes: Research & Content Creation: Donors and partners will be up to date and informed with fresh content on the ministry of GAiN Research & Content Creation: Monthly e-newsletters for core strategies are created and distributed, and contact lists are maintained and updated Research & Content Creation: Content is generated and written for quarterly partnership reports, weekly GAiN blog posts, disaster communications, annual reports, external publications, ebooks and whitepapers, media releases, etc. Research & Content Creation: Printed marketing materials are maintained with current information and photos Research & Content Creation: Regular stories are curated and added to the GAiN story bank Research & Content Creation: Download photos from mWater and organize in folders on p-drive for future publications Research & Content Creation: Staff and LIFE Team participants are interviewed after traveling to the field Research & Content Creation: Consistent messaging is monitored in order to ensure voice is clearly communicated Research & Content Creation: Edit or review other pieces as necessary Research & Content Creation: Weekly Prayer Emails are sent out Research & Content Creation: Research and write grant proposals as needed and directed by supervisor Website Content Management: GAiN is maintained with up-to-date information, new country pages, water wells, statistics, stories and pictures Website Content Management: Chat messages are replied to Website Content Management: Comments from blog posts are monitored Social Media: Contribute to Editorial Calendar - both in ideation and planning Social Media: Copy is written and basic graphics are designed for social media platforms Social Media: GAiN events, campaigns and awareness days are promoted effectively Social Media: Social listening is exercised by monitoring user posts and messages Collaboration and Support: Work with Marketing & Communication team to meet any organizational rebranding needs Collaboration and Support: Participate in one-on-one meetings, DA meetings, and any other strategic meetings Collaboration and Support: Part of editorial team Collaboration and Support: Logistics and set-up support is given leading up to and during events Collaboration and Support: Support the Development team in capturing attendee information Education and Experience Undergraduate degree in Communications is an asset 2+ years of communications or equivalent experience Experience in a non-profit working environment is an asset About You You have a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ You are able to maintain confidentiality You must have exceptional written and oral communication skills to succeed in this role You communicate effectively: able to speak, listen and write in clear, concise terms You possess excellent organizational skills, with the ability to monitor and track goals, details, data and activities You demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving You are proficient with all Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite You foster teamwork to enhance organizational effectiveness You are proactive, reliable, and consistent work ethic You are detail-oriented even under time constraints You are confident and self-assured with a can-do attitude What We Offer Our Staff: Employer-paid extended health and dental benefits Health Care Spending Account Group RRSP contribution options with up to 3.5% matching after 1 year of employment Access to our Employment Assistant Program (EAP) Paid vacation Extra vacation week from Christmas to New Year We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
