Overview Dillons Buildings Infrastructure Practice is seeking a Proposal Strategy & Content Manager to join our multidisciplinary team. This role blends strategic content leadership for high-value pursuits with practice-wide quality oversight. You will work on new and exciting projects, including complex, multidisciplinary client pursuits, and help elevate proposal quality and efficiency. The successful candidate can be based at any of our offices in Halifax, Saint John, Toronto, Hamilton, London, or Kingston. Responsibilities Strategic Proposal Leadership: Lead the development of all narrative content for strategic and high-value proposals, including executive summaries, technical approaches, and differentiators. Collaborate with Submission Managers to translate technical strategies into client-focused messaging and prioritize client engagement and pricing strategy. Drive winning strategies for key pursuits, ensuring messaging aligns with client priorities and Dillons strengths. Fully own tailoring of CVs, bios, and representative projects for accuracy and strategic alignment. Take on first-draft writing responsibilities for major sections to reduce drafting burdens on technical teams. Practice-Wide Visibility & Quality Oversight: Maintain understanding of all proposals within the Buildings Infrastructure Practice and provide guidance on content, templates, and messaging standards. Serve as the central resource for proposal best practices and ensure teams have access to the right materials and tools. Support PCs, PSs, and other contributors by ensuring every proposal reflects brand consistency, accuracy, and Dillons value proposition. Content Library & Knowledge Management: Act as the accountable owner of Buildings Infrastructure proposal content; ensure materials are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible. Capture and repurpose high-quality content, lessons learned, and innovations from each submission for future use. Lead efforts to organize, structure, and enhance content libraries to support fast, high-quality proposal production. Editing and Quality Control: Conduct first-round content reviews for clarity, conciseness, and messaging strength; enable PCs and PSs to focus on formatting and compliance by upholding editorial quality; establish content standards and guidelines for consistency across submissions. Innovation & Process Development: Champion AI-assisted tools to streamline the proposal process, identify opportunities to improve workflows, and regularly refine templates, style guides, and best practices to support efficiency and quality. Qualifications A bachelors degree in communications, marketing, English, journalism, engineering, architecture, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in proposal writing, coordination, or technical communication, ideally in engineering, architecture, or consulting. Experience Proven ability to lead proposal content development and relieve technical leads of drafting responsibilities. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofing skills, with expertise in client-focused narratives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with proposal automation tools; familiarity with using AI tools to boost efficiency while maintaining editorial control. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; ability to balance technical accuracy with persuasive messaging.
