The Senior Manager, Supplier Engagement Office is a unique member of the Loblaw Sourcing team responsible for significant and broad trade and non-trade purchases for the enterprise, including products in our Grocery stores and items the customer doesnt typically buy (e.g., store supplies, IT & Supply Chain contracts). The team provides structure, creativity and support to the Sourcing team to help them be the best buyers in Canada. Loblaw has a diverse range of suppliers from large multinational partners to local farms and specialized food businesses. The Senior Manager, Supplier Engagement Office will be responsible for executing and supporting these diverse communities with programs and forums to drive effective partnerships. This is a unique and multi-faceted role. You could be a retail professional with CPG experience, a Loblaw colleague familiar with our systems, a communications professional, a change agent, or a department manager within a store. You are a service-oriented problem solver excited to get to work and make an impact. Responsibilities Oversee all communications to suppliers. Draft, review and guide internal stakeholders through processes to communicate important business information, from process changes to policy updates and announcements. Be the steward of the voice of Loblaw to our supplier community. Maintain and enhance a consistent tone to increase engagement, understanding and positive relationships. Be the day-to-day owner of the supplier communication calendar. Act as the Air Traffic Controller to ensure timely communication and a consistent cadence. Build a positive digital experience for suppliers via the Supplier Portal. Ensure it is easy to use, maintain and evolve over time. Serve as a trusted advisor to supplier engagement roadmaps and plans, including supplier tours and conferences such as the supplier summit. Work closely with the Corporate Communication team to integrate with the overall communication roadmap and strategy while driving supplier-focused interactions and storytelling. Cultivate strong relationships across support verticals including Finance (Procure-To-Pay), GS1, EDI, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Supply Chain. Operate within a decided-upon framework to streamline operations and reduce red tape. Serve with empathy and grace, maintaining healthy relationships built on trust and advocacy with our supplier community. Qualifications We are building a high-performing, service-oriented team with a broad set of skills. Candidates may fit multiple skills; not all are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create robust PowerPoint presentations. Communication training is an asset. Ability to craft narratives and storylines to deliver key messages for leaders and teams. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word with a focus on cohesive narratives. Customer service and relationship-building skills are essential. Authenticity and trustworthiness are required to deliver an exceptional supplier experience. Experience in retail, specifically sourcing and/or merchandising, and understanding processes suppliers interact with (onboarding, listing, inquiries, etc.) is an asset. Prior Loblaw experience is a differentiator. Proven experience solving problems through process review, clear communication, and advocacy/influencing skills. Bilingual in French is an asset.
