JOB STATEMENT Guardian Capital Group Limited (GCG) is a diversified financial services company that serves the needs of clients within the financial services sector. GCA has a dynamic opportunity for a motivated individual who desires working in a progressive, team-based financial services environment. Working closely with the Client Portfolio Managers (CPM) in a challenging and highly motivated environment, you will be a member of a top-performing team serving a clientele of sophisticated, high-net-worth investors. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of the research process, client service, compliance, documentation, monitoring, portfolio analytics, implementing investment mandates and assisting in the management of portfolios. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Portfolio Manager Support (45%) Provide back-up support for Client Portfolio Managers (CPMs) situated in the Calgary office. Assist in trading, cash management and client portfolios. Assist in managing select client relationships and/or portfolios. Attend client meetings with CPMs Assisting in the preparation of client marketing presentations, proposals, questionnaires and data requests. Ongoing Client Support (30%) Respond to inquiries from clients, referral agents and associates on account information. Oversee the tracking and follow-up on client service issues related to the management of client portfolios. Work with CPMs on maintaining and reviewing clients portfolio performances Review ad hoc client reports and quarterly client statements to ensure accuracy. Research and Analysis (20%) Review CPM's client portfolios looking for potential gaps and variances from stated clients IPS. Conduct asset reviews based on the needs of CPMs. Analyze cash and near-cash positions to ensure that routine client withdrawals and client payments are managed effectively and efficiently. Develop/build ad hoc analysis and reporting for PMs based on need. Interpersonal Development (5%) Skills development (CE credits, courses) Training in systems relevant to Guardian. Be a part of the Portfolio Analyst team to ensure Guardian Capital operations and client services standards are met, and be part of continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary education in business Completed CFA Level 1 preferred A minimum 3 years of meaningful work experience, in the financial services industry with a focus on investment analysis and/or mid or front office support Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Power Point, Excel (macros, VBA skills is an asset) Strong written, time management and interpersonal skills Impeccable written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality Professional, polished presentation and the ability to interact with clients and prospects Experience with Salesforce, Eagle and Charles River is a definite asset Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment COMPENSATION Commensurate with experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
