Physician (Pain and Medication Management) - Part-Time 1.5-2 days per week CBI Health Group offers a unique opportunity to join a busy practice and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians. The Physician, working with third-party funded (sponsored) clients, effectively builds rapport to help clients maximize function by addressing their medical needs. The Physician is responsible for providing medical assessments and treatment services that meet or exceed client goals, ultimately aiding in returning to work or daily activities. Additionally, the Physician educates clients on effective medical strategies for managing pain and disability. The Physician collaborates with the interdisciplinary treatment team and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and optimal client outcomes. What we offer: Existing Client Base Interdisciplinary Team Transitional Support Flexible Remuneration Potential/Preferred Candidates: Licensed MD in Canada, registered or eligible to register with BC College of Physicians and Surgeons GP with Sports Medicine qualification Physical Medicine & Rehab Physician Program: The Pain and Medication Management Program is an outpatient interdisciplinary program designed for injured workers with complex pain issues requiring assessment and management. It includes patients prescribed opioids and/or sedative-hypnotics who could benefit from medication management or tapering, as well as those diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome for whom sympathetic ganglion blocks may be indicated. The team, comprising Physicians, Pharmacists, Psychologists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, works with injured workers to understand biopsychosocial factors contributing to their pain and responses. The treatment principles focus on self-management and reducing reliance on passive pain management methods such as medication and massage therapy. The team and the injured worker develop a personalized, goal-oriented treatment plan addressing medical, physical, psychosocial, and vocational issues. The team, with input from the WorkSafeBC officer, determines the necessary treatment components to facilitate recovery and return to work, including: Achieving return to work or increased function Safe, sustainable tapering of opioid and sedative-hypnotic medications CBI's group of companies includes CBI Health Centres, CBI Home Health, We Care Home Health Services, Monarch House, CBI Workplace Solutions, and CBI Assessment Services.
