Reporting to the Senior Plant Foreman, this position prioritizes health, safety and environment. Plant Operators will have a full working knowledge of gas plant operations to ensure that gas products meet specifications. The chosen candidate will preferably reside in the Whitecourt/Fox Creek area. Work location is close to Fox Creek. Responsibilities Ensuring Environment, Health & Safety are a top priority, and completing all work with a safety-conscious attitude Performing operating assignments and maintenance on plant equipment to ensure a safe working environment Review, understand and fully utilize Paramounts safety and operational procedures and standards in performing all facets of work Ensuring that oil and gas or power products meet specifications Recommending modifications to plant processes where performance can be improved. Work with the Operations Team on preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely Monitor facility readings, product sampling and quality control Assist with contractor, driver orientations and supervision for on-site operations Participate in review, modifications or development of facility procedures Start-up, operate and shut down unit operations within the gas plant as well as the entire plant with expertise Ensure all safety documentation is completed for all personnel working in the facility under operations care Participate in commissioning and start up activities Identify and troubleshoot process upsets, take proportional action to resolve issues Complete incident reporting Required Skills & Qualifications Must have accomplished a High School Diploma 4th Class Power Engineering is required, and 3rd or 2nd Class Power Engineering certificate would be considered an asset PFO/GPO industry training courses, or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sour plant Valid H2S and First Aid certifications and hold a Valid Class 5 Drivers License Ability to maximize production through process optimization Process Experience includes, but not limited to: Glycol de-hydration; Amine sweetening; Acid Gas injection; PLC/DCS; Refrigeration; Booster/sales compression; Inlet separation; NGL Recovery; Condensate stabilization; Hot Oil & Glycol H.M Boilers Good understanding of business concepts to minimize costs Strong team player with excellent communication, problem solving, decision-making, organization, reliability and attention to detail Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn Paramount-based software programs Proactive and self-starter with initiative and entrepreneurial attitude Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, partners and stakeholders Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to provide shift coverage upon request Required to work 7 days on, 7 days off shift (12 hour shifts) rotating between day and night Benefits This position offers on-the-job experience, coaching and training within a Canadian-based energy company, with competitive compensation and health and wellness benefits.
