Job Description As a Chef Manager , you will plan, guide, and execute contracted services at Prince of Peace Manor. You will be part of a management team in food and nutrition services, performing tasks such as training, coaching, and administrative duties for employees. You may serve as interim manager when the Operations Manager is away and complete duties as assigned by management. Job Responsibilities Supervise kitchen team to ensure compliance with standards and procedures; manage all kitchen operations including catering requests. Complete weekly safety observations of food service staff; enforce safety protocols. Cook twice a week and assist in kitchen; provide guidance at Harbour as needed. Ensure logs are completed accurately (HACCP, sanitizer, dish machine temperature, waste, etc.). Daily auditing of cleanliness in food service areas per SOPs. Conduct monthly inventory and update inventory in accounting software. Enter staff schedules into Kronos two weeks in advance. Lead department and client meetings as assigned; participate in Food Forum and Client CBRs. Assist with marketing open houses and order supplies from Aramark vendors; manage food cost, PRD, and budget. Organize storage areas and assist with stock management. Perform daily team huddles before opening. Enter invoices into accounting software as needed. Manage Retail outlet with Aramark marketing; plan tastings, events, and pop-up stations to drive sales. Ensure proper food handling and temperature controls; collaborate with Dietitian to update weekly diet and production sheets and communicate changes. Assist with menu development and implement Aramark Food Programs. Demonstrate service-oriented attitudes toward customers and colleagues; maintain a responsive, friendly demeanor with clients and residents. Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements (WHMIS, OH&S, Public Health, Accommodation standards, and Aramark audits). Support retention and development through Aramark recognition programs and People Development. Qualifications Minimum 2-year College Diploma with Management, Hotel/Restaurant, or Dietetic specialty; professional certification or degree as applicable. Food Safe Certification is an asset; cooking certification is also an asset. 2 to 3 years of management or supervision experience in a healthcare environment. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills; proficiency with Word, Office, and Excel. This role may include physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, and may require uniforms or PPE.
