We are currently looking for a Bookkeeper, Treasury & Payroll to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-time position within the Association can be housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontarios Durham, Chippewa or Poplar location in Sudbury, North Bay or Timmins. This position can be hybrid remote , applicants must be located in Northeastern Ontario and able to attend one of our main sites on a monthly basis. The Bookkeeper, Treasury & Payroll, is a member of the Finance team, reporting directly to the Controller. This role requires an experienced and dedicated professional to provide accounting and bookkeeping support for the Association. This role will prepare the daily banking entries for 7 bank accounts, oversee the Corporate Visa Card Program, ensure cash receipts are reconciled and deposited as well as supporting payroll and benefits for the enrollments and changes to pension and inputs for payroll. This position also manages the collection of Accounts Receivable and other month end accounting routines including HST reporting and filing. This position has local as well as Association wide responsibilities that may require some travel. START DATE: As soon as possible LOCATION: Sudbury, North Bay, Timmins and surrounding areas RATE OF PAY: $48,000 - $55,000 per year Major Responsibilities Prepare bank reconciliations Prepare weekly summary of cash in and cash out and track the monthly sources and uses of cash Record daily bank transactions in accounting software with backup Provide admin support for payment processors (Bambora, Pay stone, Elavon) Manage the Corporate Visa Card Program including RBC commercial visa accounts set up and reconciliation Process weekly AP cheque payments with backup Provide copies of the payment advice for all cash received and recorded into deferred revenue Complete the month end bank reconciliation Ensure that control accounts are reconciled to the sub-ledgers on a monthly basis Prepare invoices for the entire association and manage Accounts Receivable proactively bringing AR to cash on 30-day basis Support payroll requirements and inputs into the bi-weekly payroll process supported by Dayforce consultants and managed services Qualifications University degree in accounting or related field *for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are asked to submit a WES with their application Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in end-to-end bookkeeping functions or equivalent accounting position Preferred experience in not-for-profit organization Proven professional experience in accounting and working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Payroll processing experience with ability to support pension and benefit programs Advanced computer knowledge above average excel skills and experience with SAGE accounting or equivalent accounting software applications.
