Job Description We currently have an opening for a Hydrologist in our Vernon or Kelowna office with our Water and Climate Services Group. This position may be based in one of our other major offices (e.g. Edmonton, Calgary or Vancouver), please indicate your preferred location in your cover letter. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on hydrology projects, and for supporting on a wide range of water science projects (including water resources, water quality, and climate and climate change; experience in one or multiple areas considered an asset). Responsibilities include the following: Carrying out hydrometric monitoring and stream channel surveys and assessments. Performing a broad range of technical hydrologic, hydraulic, and planning assessments. Managing and/or coordinating projects, including scoping, budgeting, client liaison, and leading project teams. Contributing to or leading the preparation of high quality scientific and technical reports. Collaborating on multi-disciplinary projects where hydrologic evaluations inform design and risk management. Supporting work in water-related fields (such as water quality, watershed management, and drought risk assessments). Job Requirements Critical attributes for this role include strong technical and communication skills, an analytical focus with attention to detail, and a commitment to support the development of other professionals. What you will bring: Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in hydrology, physical geography, or earth science; graduate (M.Sc.) degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years' post-graduation experience in environmental consulting or applied research. Professional registration (e.g. P.Geo., P.Ag.) or eligible to be registered within 1 year. Experience working safely in remote areas and extreme environments and weather conditions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with large and complex datasets.
