What you will be doing Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation in workstation as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef on duty. Work within the station in a clean, safe, and efficient manner in accordance with policy, procedures, and standards of the kitchen. Prepare the necessary food items as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef, in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest service. Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met. Keep workstation clean and organized including fridge/freezers, countertops, and range tops. Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard. Keep overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensure proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food to reduce food cost expense. Operate all kitchen equipment and conduct yourself with safety in mind at all times. Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines. Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in a timely manner. Complete other job-related duties as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications Minimum 2 years cooking experience Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset Valid City of Toronto Food Handler Certificate required Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Whats in it for you?
