Overview Sr. Software Delivery Packager at J&M Group. Responsibilities Automate software installs for applications on every computer in Customer environments globally. Steward automation software and packaging processes. Establish the direction for software packaging at Customer. Mentor junior software packages and engage with ASCP packagers. Technical Execution Technical package build (akin to software development/coding) and testing in alignment with requester requirements and Customer standards. Projects are technically complex and global. Mentoring & Engagement with Junior ASCP Packagers Training, mentoring, coaching junior team members and working with ASCP to keep them engaged and informed. Customer Service & Relationship Management Meeting and collaborating with internal customers and project teams to define requirements, resolve complex technical issues, and schedule activities. Stewardship & Process Improvement Stewarding packaging software and improving processes; staying current on technology and evaluating solutions that best meet Customer needs. Essential Skills Must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance. Senior software packaging skills. Experience with AdminStudio and SCCM; scripting related to the application installation process. Familiarity with software packaging best practices and industry standards. Deep knowledge of MSI including tables, components, permissions, custom actions, self-repair, advertised shortcuts, etc. Deep knowledge of Windows 7 OS including registry, file structure, user profiles, differences between 32- and 64-bit. Conflict resolution for DLL and OCX conflicts and issues with existing applications; using tools such as REGMON, FILEMON, PROCESSMON and Beyond Compare to identify resolve issues. Familiarity with ACT (Application Compatibility Toolkit) to resolve Windows 7 compatibility with legacy applications. Ability to follow packaging processes and ensure all required testing and documentation is complete; adherence to standards. Passion for technology; understanding of industry trends and future of software packaging; process improvement skills. Leadership: ability to work independently and as part of a global team; self-sufficient; strong communication skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); ability to communicate with both technical and business people. Strong relationship management skills with an established track record of maintaining positive business relationships. Education & Experience College/University Degree. 7-8 years in software packaging, systems administration, and/or IT infrastructure. Desirable Skills App-V and InTune experience (desirable).
