Senior Associate Accounts Payable (contract) The Senior Associate Accounts Payable will be responsible for vendor invoice processing, payment management, and AP transformation projects . This role provides operational support to the client AP team , ensures compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements , and assists in developing a future AP operating model . The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of AP experience and expertise in process improvements and automation initiatives . Key Responsibilities AP Transformation & Process Optimization: Lead transformation projects related to vendor invoice processing, payment management, and vendor onboarding. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation solutions to enhance AP workflow. Collaborate with finance, procurement, and IT teams to optimize AP processes. Regulatory Compliance & Taxation: Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations and invoice payment laws. Provide expertise on taxation implications and regulatory requirements in Canada. Assist in audit preparations and financial reconciliations. Operational Support & Stakeholder Management: Provide day-to-day AP operational support to client teams and Transformation Office leaders. Resolve vendor invoice discrepancies, payment delays, and workflow challenges. Act as a liaison between vendors, finance teams, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance. Process Documentation & Reporting: Develop AP process documentation, SOPs, and best practices for the team. Prepare and present reports on AP performance, compliance, and transformation initiatives. Support user training and process standardization across AP functions. Technical Expertise & Skills: 5-10 years of hands-on AP experience in a non-SAP environment. Strong understanding of vendor invoice processing, payment management, and vendor onboarding. Knowledge of Canadian regulatory and tax compliance requirements for AP. Experience in AP process transformation and automation initiatives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AP software solutions. Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ERP/AP automation tools. Background in financial reporting, audit preparation, and reconciliations. Prior experience in AP process reengineering and system migrations.
