Reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the Chemist operates in accordance with b est practices, policies, procedure and a pplicable acts and regulations. The successful candidate will have strong decision making and leadership skills and will be a hardworking individual with a keen eye for detail. You are a resourceful and creative problem solver that shows initiative, able to work individually as well as in a team environment, a quick learner and are adaptable to different situations. You also have an ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing work environment , are highly o rganized a nd a fast learner. Key Responsibilities: Work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures following good laboratory practices; Operate and maintain instruments and equipment, primarily using HPLC and GCMS ; Collaborate to enhance techniques for the analysis of cannabis via HPLC and GCMS Follow Organigrams GPPs/GMPs, SOPs and Cannabis Act; Interpret and report results; Help develop and validate methods and equipment; Design protocol and conduct process validation studies; Design protocol and conduct product stability testing; Manage testing consumables supply inventory; Assist with development and training of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, etc.; Other tasks as required to pivot with business needs. Qualifications: B Sc degree in Science, Chemistry or Biochemistry, or related degree at minimum; Must have HPLC experience; GCMS experience would be an asset Previous experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment (preferably food or pharmaceuticals), GLP, GMP; Energetic, career minded professional, a focus on solutions and a commitment to outstanding performance; Quick learner with ability to work in a fast paced & changing environment; Numerical and analytical ability; Work independently and as a team and with a sense of urgency; A logical and independent mind; The motivation and ability to solve complex problems, takes initiative & follows through; Theoretical and practical knowledge of analytical techniques; Proven ability to interact effectively with a diverse group and within a team environment; Proven ability to deliver to specific deadlines; Strong Communication (written and verbal) skills; Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure Thank you for your interest in Organigram.
