Essential qualifications (education and experience): Education: Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Dental Hygiene. Degree equivalency may apply. Occupational Certification: Eligibility for registration in a Canadian province or territory with no current license suspensions; current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers or CPR C for Health Care Providers. Experience: E1 Experience in direct, hands-on patient dental hygiene care; E2 Experience in Adult Education and Health Promotion Principles. The following will be applied/assessed at a later date (essential for the job): language requirements (English essential, French essential, bilingual imperative). An optional self-assessment of second-language writing skills is available before completing the application. Competencies: C1 Integrity and Respect; C2 Working Effectively With Others; C3 Thinking Things Through; C4 Showing Initiative and Being Action Oriented; C5 Communication. Abilities: A1 Ability to gather and analyze information to influence treatment outcomes; A2 Ability to prioritize tasks. Asset qualifications (may be required): E1 Experience using an electronic patient record and scheduler; E2 Experience providing local anesthetic; E3 Experience exposing patients to ionizing radiation and interpreting radiographs; E4 Experience using Microsoft Office; E5 Deliver efficient scaling and root planning; E6 Experience in a mixed public service and military environment.
