About the Role Reporting directly to the Director, Finance, this position is responsible for assisting with the full cycle accounting process for OEG Real Estate, Katz Group Real Estate and subsidiary companies. Your Focus in this Role Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements for multiple properties Prepare and analyze property-level financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets and cash-flow analysis Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and general ledgers Prepare and file GST returns and supporting working papers Verify invoices and compliance with financial policies and procedures Prepare and post journal entries Provide input to the annual budget processes, as needed Support property & asset management teams Review 3rd party property management statements for accuracy and completeness Review CAM reconciliation, lease accounting and residential accounting Other administrative accounting tasks Who You Are Youre a positive person with a customer-centric focus Youre a self-starter that is excited by autonomy and has a relentless drive to exceed expectations Youre open-minded and adaptable You believe in a team-first mentality and thrive in a collaborative, egoless environment Youre organized with keen attention to detail and strong time management You have a talent for building great working relationships at all levels You have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently to complete tasks accurately and on time You are self-motivated with strong attention to detail Education, Experience and Skills Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting is required Minimum five (5) years in an accounting background or related field is required CA/CPA Designation will be considered an asset Proficiency with accounting and property management software (Yardi) Experience with other computerized accounting software (e.g. Great Plains) and strong Excel skills Experience in real estate, property management or construction accounting required Effective communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with staff and third-party managers Understanding of concepts and ability to identify errors, and to strategize with consideration to operational and financial implications Whats in it for you? 100% Employer Paid Benefits + RSP Matching Program Ticket options for Oilers, Oil Kings, and Live Entertainment Healthcare and Lifestyle Spending Account options On-Site Parking and Transit Allowance On-Site Gym Beautiful office space located downtown Edmonton within Rogers Place Social work culture and employee events Next Steps Thank you for your interest in joining our team.
