Job Description

Psychology Graduate Program at Trent University (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) Published on 4/11/2025 Hello from Canada, Im reaching out as the Director of the Psychology Graduate Program at Trent University (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada) with a potential opportunity for a couple of graduate students to join our program to study human sexuality and LGBTQ+ topics. I understand that some American graduate students may be concerned about the viability and funding of sexuality/LGBTQ+ programs given the current US situation. As a research ally in the field and a friend to the North, I hope this can be a helpful option. Our graduate program offers a couple of International Graduate Scholarships (IGS) that can reduce international fees to domestic rates for one or two incoming students. The IGS is awarded for the duration of the program (2 years for MSc, 4 years for PhD) and is in addition to the standard funding package. Currently, we have not awarded these scholarships yet and prefer they remain within our department. The Psychology department has three faculty members specializing in sexuality, sexual health, and LGBTQ+ health, along with others working on related areas such as intimate relationships and adult attachment styles. The overall program has about 35-40 students, including a growing PhD cohort. If you are a prospective graduate student seeking a program to conduct your sexuality research, please contact me about this opportunity. Your interest is much appreciated. The deadline for applications to our Psychology graduate program is July 01 for Fall 2025 admission. For questions about the program or application process, feel free to reach out to me directly.
