Overview We seek a Process Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in downstream catalytic processes to join the Downstream Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD). OESD provides multidisciplinary support to refinery, NGLF, and petrochemical facilities in Saudi Arabia and globally. Your primary role involves catalyst and absorbent management for process units, including selection, performance evaluation, optimization, benchmarking, cost management, technical support, and spent catalyst handling. Key Responsibilities Monitor catalyst and absorbent operations, analyze performance indicators, and prepare reports with optimization recommendations. Support onsite process technology engineers in resolving catalyst performance issues and implementing improvements. Collaborate with global teams on catalyst procurement, techno-economic evaluations, and performance guarantees. Coordinate catalyst pilot testing activities with internal stakeholders. Manage emergency catalyst exchanges, regeneration, reuse, and metal reclamation processes. Maintain a database of catalysts and absorbents, including technology providers and forecasts. Develop a hydroprocessing catalyst roadmap to optimize catalyst usage across assets. Provide field support for catalyst activities, including loading, unloading, regeneration, troubleshooting, and process optimization. Manage precious metals used in catalysts, including leasing, reclamation, and metal pool synergy. Support pilot testing and demonstration of catalysts in collaboration with R&D and technical teams. Qualifications include: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering; advanced degrees preferred. At least 17 years of experience in catalytic units (hydroprocessing, cracking, reforming, isomerization). Experience with catalyst selection, performance evaluation, troubleshooting, and handling. Exposure to licensors like UOP, Axens is a plus. Proficiency in process simulation tools. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
