Overview We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Associate, Accounting to join our Finance & Operations team. As an Associate, Accounting, you will be responsible for supporting the firms accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable, financial reporting, and internal controls. Reporting directly to the Director, Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Accounting Operations: Performs day-to-day accounting functions, recording financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Budgeting Support: Supports the budgeting process by gathering and organizing departmental data and preparing variance reports. Treasury and Cash Flow Management: Supports cash flow tracking and treasury operations by preparing reports and monitoring daily balances. Internal Controls & Compliance: Contributes to the development and documentation of internal control processes. Supports the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly compliance reporting (e.g., OSC, Statistics Canada). Systems & Process Improvement: Assists with data entry and system updates in Oracle NetSuite and contributes to ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborates with various departments such as Operations and Compliance to ensure accurate financial data flow. Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. One (1) to three (3) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in financial services. Progress toward CPA designation is an asset. Understanding of GAAP and accounting standards. Experience with Oracle NetSuite or other ERP systems is an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools. Technical Knowledge Strong technical knowledge of accounting, proven with experience within financial services. Problem-Solving Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Communication An excellent communicator with a firm command of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills necessary to present information to non-financial stakeholders. Attention to Detail Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Integrity Upholds ethics and builds trust, especially when handling sensitive information. Teamwork Strong aptitude to collaborate and maintain strong working relationships within the organization.
