The successful candidate will work with Designers, Engineers, and Technologists to provide design and drafting services in accordance with company and client standards. The work will be performed for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on water projects, including water supply, water and wastewater treatment, reservoirs, lift stations, and pumping stations. Your responsibilities will include Collaborating with engineers and designers in creating 2D and 3D drawings and concept illustrations. Performing electrical design calculations and analyzing electrical systems. Applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide power, instrumentation, controls and automation engineering and design services for a wide variety of industries and clients. Developing and reviewing single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor power and control schematics, and field wiring. Developing plans and details for hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems. Providing support for inspection of electrical, instrumentation and control systems. Cross-discipline coordination to ensure that the multi-discipline design intent is met. Supporting the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements. Job Requirements An Electrical/Instrumentation Technology diploma or Engineering Design & Drafting diploma from an accredited technical college or university. 5+ years in design and AutoCAD drafting of electrical, instrumentation and control projects. Proficient in AutoCAD. Experience with Revit is an asset. Experience with ETAP, AGI 32 and Navisworks is an asset. BIM knowledge will be an added advantage. Working knowledge of the CEC, IEC, and NFPA. Comfortable in a field setting. Ability to work with others on large complex projects. Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. Comfortable working under and meeting tight deadlines. Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Committed team player, self motivated, able to work independently. Valid drivers license. Ability to travel within Alberta.
