Overview Assistant Teaching Professor - Nursing Ontario Tech University (University of Ontario Institute of Technology), located in Oshawa, Ontario, invites applications for an Academic Associate position in the field of Nursing. This position is subject to budgetary approval, and would start on January 1, 2026, or as soon as it is filled. The Faculty of Health Sciences offers a 4-year collaborative BScN program and a 3-year Advanced Entry RPN to BScN Program, among other undergraduate and graduate programs. Responsibilities Teach at the undergraduate level in the Nursing Program in one or more of the following domains: Acute and Chronic Care Nursing (medical-surgical nursing, clinical education, health assessment, medication administration), Mental Health Nursing, and Nursing Theory. Demonstrate and model the integration of technology into teaching within the Universitys web-centric and mobile learning environment. Engage in simulation-based learning and/or practicum/clinical oversight as applicable. Contribute to teaching excellence with a focus on high-quality teaching and strong two-way communications with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Support a workload expectation of 70% Teaching, 20% Service, and 10% Other per year. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Nursing (BScN) and a Masters degree in Nursing or a related field. Registered Nurse with current registration in the Regular or Extended class with the College of Nurses of Ontario, entitling them to practice with no restrictions. PhD (or equivalent) in Nursing or a relevant health sciences field is considered an asset. Desired Experience Experience in simulation-based learning and/or practicum/clinical oversight is an asset. Strong academic background with potential for outstanding teaching contributions and excellent English language skills, enabling strong, two-way communications and collaborative relationships.
