Were looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to keep our internal operations running smoothly! In this role, youll manage payroll from start to finish, ensuring payroll and benefits accounts are accurately reconciled. Youll provide clear, first-rate support to employees with payroll and benefits-related questions while playing a key role in our HR team, collaborating on and contributing to process improvements and system enhancements to support our growing business. What Youll Be Doing Oversee payroll cycle: Manage the complete payroll process, ensuring accurate data input and timely disbursement in compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and regulations. Process payroll transactions: Handle daily payroll operations, including employee changes such as rate increases, promotions, and adjusted work hours. Administer benefits: Manage benefit enrolments and changes, troubleshoot discrepancies, and resolve employee inquiries about their benefits. Respond to inquiries: Provide timely responses to employee and stakeholder queries related to payroll. Streamline HRIS and payroll systems: Utilize integrated systems to optimize payroll processes and improve data accuracy. Collaborate across teams: Work with other departments to gather and verify employee information, resolve payroll discrepancies, and address payroll-related concerns. Generate payroll reports: Create payroll reports using Ceridian Dayforce and Excel, providing insights to internal and external stakeholders. Conduct audits: Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy within payroll systems. Assist with year-end processes: Support the preparation of T4 statements, T2200 forms, and other statutory documents during year-end. Contribute to system improvements: Participate in the implementation and optimization of payroll and HRIS systems, focusing on process enhancements. What Were Looking For Payroll Expertise : 5 years of experience in Canadian payroll administration, with in-depth knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations and tax laws. Systems Thinking: Strong understanding of how payroll and HRIS functions connect, including how payroll impacts other areas and how system changes affect payroll. Ability to anticipate and resolve potential issues before they arise. HRIS & Payroll Systems Ownership: Experience as a primary administrator of an HRIS and payroll system is an asset, including managing configurations, troubleshooting system issues, ensuring seamless payroll integration, and working with SFTP files. Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite, with a focus on Microsoft Excel. Certifications (an Asset): Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP), Certified Payroll Manager (CPM), or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation. Process Improvement: Passionate about identifying opportunities to enhance payroll and HR processes and programs. Problem-Solving & Prioritization: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support internal teams and liaise with external agencies.
