Job Description

Senior Property Accountant & Lease Administrator LHH is assisting our Louisville based real estate / property management client in their search for a qualified Senior Property Accountant & Lease Administrator to add to their team. The Senior Property Accountant & Lease Administrator is responsible for the daily accounting, administration, and lease data management of a retail real estate portfolio. This role combines day-to-day property accounting with lease administration duties, requiring an understanding of both basic accounting principles and lease structures. The position plays a key role in supporting accurate financial results, tenant billings and collections, as well as lease compliance. Job Description Assist with the monthly and quarterly financial statements for retail properties. Record journal entries, monthly accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP. Process accounts payable for corporate and property operations using AvidXchange. Process tenant billings and accounts receivable related to property operations. Assist with CAM, real estate tax, and insurance reconciliations, issue tenant billings, and other administrative requirements. Maintain lease records and files, including critical dates (options, expirations, rent increases). Ensure all lease terms (base rent, escalations, percentage rent, recoveries) are correctly applied. Coordinate with property management, and leasing agent on lease-related matters. Communicate with tenants throughout the year as needed (e.g., inspection notices, sales reports). Requirements Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in property accounting and lease administration Knowledge of retail or commercial lease structures and common area maintenance charges preferred. Self-motivated, able to deal with change, and demonstrate a proficiency for collaboration, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. Proficiency in property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) preferred.
