Overview Pipefitter/Steamfitter role at Magna International. Responsibilities Install and maintain pressure systems of piping Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings Prepare own layouts Fabricate and weld valve bank frames and other welding requirements Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic components and water systems Operate various machine tools and equipment Carry out special projects Anticipate and solve problems Perform tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy Consult Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if unsure of how to perform tasks safely Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for jobs in your area and use them properly Keep work area clean, tidy and organized to prevent accidents and produce quality products Report unusual circumstances and participate in Continuous Improvements Follow ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world-class quality products Perform other related duties as required and assigned Minimum Qualifications Minimum 5 years experience in automotive assembly / tooling or assembly systems Core Competencies Must be able to use hand tools (hand benders, power threaders, hydraulic hose gripers, etc.) Some machining skills (lathe, milling machines, drill press, surface grinders) Ability to read/interpret blueprints as well as hydraulic and pneumatic schematics Knowledge of lubrication systems and air compressors Understand precision equipment such as pumps, hydraulic motors, CNC boring mills, and other shop equipment Knowledge of adhesive glue systems Ability to work as a team member and individually Ability to manage multiple tasks within the trade Must have own tools Good communication skills Good mathematical skills Duties & Responsibilities Install and maintain piping for pressure systems Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings Prepare layouts Fabricate and weld valve bank frames and other welding requirements Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic components and water systems Operate various machine tools and equipment Carry out special projects Anticipate and solve problems Perform tasks safely and lock out all energy sources Consult supervisors if unsure how to perform tasks safely Follow safety rules and procedures at all times Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment Keep work area clean, tidy and organized to ensure safety and quality Report unusual circumstances and support Continuous Improvements Follow ISO Standard Operating Procedures for quality products Perform other related duties as required Aware, Unity, Empowerment Magna is an equal opportunity employer.
