Join to apply for the Automation Technician I - Industrial role at Baker Group . **Purpose** Automation Technicians will support Project Managers and System Engineers in creating, installing, and commissioning PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, as well as network and device integration work. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities** The following duties are typical for this job. These are not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Assist with project programming, startup, and commissioning of new PLC/HMI/SCADA control systems, as well as service and maintenance of existing installations, fault diagnosis, hardware repairs, and programming bug fixes on customer sites. Diagnose and resolve technical problems on jobs and report appropriately to Project Management or Operations Leaders via email, SharePoint, OneDrive, or other repositories. Attend project kickoff and turnover meetings with Project Managers to understand project estimates, scope, and final project documentation. Organize and maintain control submittal project redlines and submit to design engineers for as-built drawing creation after review from Team Lead or Senior Engineer. Collaborate with other technicians to develop and share technical solutions. Participate in technician training to stay updated on new products, tools, and integration through continuing education. **Minimum Education & Experience** Minimum of three years of experience with PLC/HMI control systems preferred or an A.A.S degree in Robotics, Automation, Technology, or in the process of completion. **Competencies** Knowledge of PLC software (e.g., Rockwell RSLogix, Studio 5000), HMI software (e.g., FactoryTalk View, Wonderware InTouch), SCADA systems (preferred), Windows Office, repositories (OneDrive, SharePoint), and basic networking and process control understanding. Ability to travel approximately 25%. **Environmental and Physical Requirements** Prolonged sitting at a desk, lifting up to 20 pounds, field interactions requiring standing, walking, climbing stairs, and exposure to weather conditions.
