WoodMac.com Wood Mackenzie brand video Role Purpose We are seeking a dynamic Senior Product Specialist to join our Americas Commodities Team, based in Calgary. This is a customer-facing role at the intersection of product expertise, customer outcomes, and commercial strategy. Youll play a critical role in helping customers maximize the value of Wood Mackenzies market-leading research and analytics. By deeply understanding customer workflows, youll deliver high-impact training, product demonstrations, and tailored support to increase product adoption, satisfaction, and commercial growth through upsell, cross-sell, and retention. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with leading companies in energy and commodities, acting as a trusted advisor and champion of Wood Mackenzies solutions. Main Responsibilities Drive customer engagement: Deliver tailored, workflow-based training to users across all levels of customer organizations to deepen product adoption and value. Be a product evangelist: Develop deep expertise in your product domain, including the roadmap, and translate complex offerings into actionable customer benefits. Support commercial growth: Partner with Customer Success and Account Managers to drive renewals, expansions, and new business through strategic engagement and insight-led conversations. Resolve product inquiries: Handle customer queries with confidence and professionalism, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions. Create digital learning content: Design and develop engaging digital training materials (e.g., videos, e-learning modules, guided walkthroughs) to support scalable, self-paced customer learning. Collaborate Across Teams: Work cross-functionally with Research, Product, Sales, and Marketing to share insights, co-create resources, and ensure a seamless customer experience. Shape product evolution: Provide structured feedback and market intelligence to Product Owners, influencing the roadmap based on customer needs and industry trends. Measure Success: Track and report quantitative and qualitative engagement outcomes to demonstrate value delivered and inform continuous improvement. About You Can work with complex data sets and build an understanding of customer workflows and needs. Experience working with MS applications (Intermediate Excel skills are required for this role). Be able to develop relationships across customer organisations from end users to senior stakeholders. Have experience in collaborating with different internal teams to achieve commercial success. Be passionate about growing the business and have a genuine interest in developing and growing themselves. Have an intellectual curiosity and aptitude towards the growing fields of data and data analytics and how these tools help customers solve business critical issues. Have experience in a customer facing role within a b2b sales, data analytics or SaaS based solutions organisation. Have knowledge of Customer Success Platforms, Gainsight will be an advantage. Show effective organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage own workload effectively. Have presentation, public speaking, communication, and training skills. Be self-motivated.
